Book Review

I’m a huge fan of picture books, especially contemporary ones that offer unique, interesting protagonists small kids can relate to. Frizzy Tizzy Goes to the Park is a book in the Frizzy Tizzy series, and one that definitely offers a cute, fun main character, and a few side characters that are equally fun. I loved the drawing style, with the rugby-ball shaped heads, and Frizzy Tizzy’s frizzy hair was enjoyable as well.

The story is short and sweet. Frizzy Tizzy wakes up and asks her parents to take her to the park. At the park, she’s scared to go down a slide. The girl standing behind her asks if they want to go together, and Frizzy Tizzy agrees. They go down the slide together, and quickly became friends afterward.

This is a nice read for children learning to read on their own, and younger children will enjoy looking at the pictures while you read it to them.
