Author Interview Barry Nelson

I’m interviewing Barry Nelson on my blog today, the author of “Assassination Anxiety” and “The McKenzie Files”. Thanks for answering my questions, Barry!

1) What is the hardest part about being an author?
In my case it’s having enough time to finish all the future books that I have planned. In addition to my McKenzie Files series I have twenty other projects planned. But overall I’sd say that the hardest part of being a writer, or a beginning writer is dealing with rejections. Which can be numerous.

2) Can you give us the synopsis of your book?
In Assassination Anxiety our heroes, Colin McKenzie, Diane Christy, and Kelly Lytton are investigating an assassination attempt on the life of the Uninted Protectorate’s President. They are called in because of the arcane details surrounding the incident. During the investigation they meet a group of more advanced Reploids called the Enforcers. The Enforcers are not just reploids. They are also enhanced with cybernetic technology designed to make them more powerful. They have to try to stop the Enforcers from making a second attempt against the President’s life.

3) Is this part of a series or a stand alone?
This is the second part of a series. I have just completed the third book in the series. Which I hope to see released before the end of August.

4) How many hours do you write per day/week/month (choose time period yourself)?
20 to 30 hours a week.

5) What is your favorite book?
A world War two book titled The Last Battle. By Cornelius Ryan.

6) What are you working on now?
A WW-2 horror story called Dogs of War. Which I hope to have finished by the end of this year.

That changes when President Drennan is almost killed in a bizarre assassination attempt.

Colin McKenzie and his team are ordered to uncover whoever’s behind the assassination attempt and to find and destroy the frightening weapons responsible for the horrible death and destruction at the President’s last election campaign address. After the first attempt on the President’s life, it’s certain more are sure to follow.

Meanwhile, Colin remains curious and wary about his dark past as a Vendetta operative formerly working against the Protectorate. The more he learns about his previous life, the less he likes it. Even more worrisome is the odd dreams he’s been having.
