Author Interview with Shyla Colt

I’m hosting an interview today with author Shyla Colt, the author of romantic suspense novel “Cast The Cards”. Thank you for answering my questions, Shyla!

Author Interview

1) What is the hardest part about being an author?

For me right now I’d have to say balancing writing with the rest of  my life. I stay at home with two children under four, and my husband is an active military member, so some days are schedule is just insane! Carving out that time and staying inspired with the words flowing can be a challenge at times.

2) Can you give us the synopsis of your book?

I’d love to. As a young college student Savannah West’s life is rocked and changed forever when she escapes a kidnapping attempt, but the man she loves doesn’t. Eyes opened to the evils of the world, her dreams of becoming an FBI Profiler are born.  Almost ten years later with her dreams realized the killer’s return to finish the job. With some help from the  ghost of her slain love and his twin, who’s a Police Detective, it’s a race against time to stop the Tarot Card Killers before they reach Savannah.

3) Is this part of a series or a stand alone?

This book is a stand alone.

4) How many hours do you write per day?

A good two to four, broken up into intervals off and on throughout the day. Most of my uninterrupted writing time is at night after everyone has gone to bed.

5) What is your favorite book?

Wow… For me they’re all like my children, so I don’t have a favorite, but I love them all for different reasons. I will say I’m extremely proud of Cast the Cards because it was my first full length Suspense and a real mixture of the thriller/horror movies I grew up loving and romance.

6) What are you working on now?

Right now I’m working on a Christmas piece  A sort of rom com with a paranormal twist.
